The heart of QSSA lies in daily assignments. Students specialize in either Animation or Visual Development and discover new concepts every day. Daily life drawing time is allotted for students to hone their observational skills. In addition to the courses themselves, QSSA offers social events like film screenings and figure drawing sessions, as well as a supportive community of talented young artists — all completely for free!
Our Animation course teaches:
The principles of animation
Stop motion and traditional animation
Walk and run cycles
Film production
Our Visual Development course teaches:
Character, environment, and prop design
Story basics
Color, light, and composition
Pitch development
Lessons and assignments are totally asynchronous and no live participation is required. However, QSSA offers fun and educational events as a bonus. Typical events might include:
Film screenings including daily shorts and weekly student-chosen features
Guest speakers from the industry and community, which have previously featured brilliant minds like Pendleton Ward, Sandro Cleuzo, and Lindsay Small-Butera
Social time for chatting, working, and fun activities
Figure drawing sessions, where students practice clothed gesture drawing
